Can hypertension cause liver damage?

Quite a while now, I've been having high blood pressure, and I also enjoy my evening drinks, though I'm trying to cut back. My doctor recently advised me about potential long-term effects of hypertension. Can high blood pressure also lead to liver damage over time?

Generally, high blood pressure affects the heart and kidneys more than the liver. However, you should still consult your doctor for a complete health checkup.

Hypertension doesn't typically cause direct liver damage, though conditions like portal hypertension are different. It is important to look at systemic health collectively, as metabolic issues often coexist. Please consult a physician for a thorough clinical evaluation.

While hypertension mainly impacts blood vessels, a poor diet can lead to both high BP and fatty liver disease. Focus on cutting out oily foods and adding green leafy vegetables to your daily meals. Do consult your doctor for a proper health plan.

I tried drinking amla and bottle gourd juice daily to control my high blood pressure and help my liver. While home remedies keep the stomach clean, they cannot replace actual BP medicines. Make sure to get a liver function test and consult your doctor regularly.

Great, now my liver is also on the list of things to worry about during my midnight overthinking sessions. Jokes aside, high BP mostly targets the heart and kidneys. Just ask your doctor next time so you can sleep peacefully.
