I started HRT two weeks ago and I feel like I am seeing way more hair in the shower drain now. Is this just a temporary shedding phase, or is the therapy actually ruining my hair? Has anyone else experienced this when starting hormones?

Bro, my cousin started taking some hormone treatments for his health issues and his hairline started receding super fast. It turns out certain synthetic hormones can trigger male pattern baldness if you are genetically prone to it. Definitely ask your doc about this side effect.

Before you spend a fortune on expensive anti-hair fall serums and clinic visits, get a basic blood panel done to check your free testosterone and DHT levels. Knowing the exact hormone changes will save you a lot of money on ineffective hair products.

Yeah, it can. When you mess with your testosterone or estrogen levels, it can shock your hair follicles into a resting phase, leading to telogen effluvium. I had crazy shedding when my hormone levels were fluctuating during treatment last year.

As if the hot flashes and insomnia weren't enough, finding half my hair on my pillow after starting HRT was a cruel joke. My doctor said the hormonal shift can trigger shedding initially, but I really hope it stops soon before I go completely bald!

At my age, I have seen many friends go through hormonal treatments and complain about sudden hair thinning. In most cases, it is just a temporary reaction as the body adjusts to the new hormone levels. Don't lose hope, it usually settles down after a few months.
