Can high iron cause hair loss?

I've been struggling with hair loss, and my recent blood tests showed that my iron levels are actually quite high. Can high iron in the body actually cause hair loss? I always thought low iron was the problem.

Yes, absolutely. Too much iron can cause oxidative stress which weakens the hair roots. I always tell people here to get a proper ferritin test done first instead of guessing. Once you correct the levels with your doctor, the hair fall usually stops completely.

Mere saath bhi same problem hui thi! I was eating so many iron-rich foods and tablets without checking, and my hair was falling like crazy. I stopped all supplements, started drinking simple methi water daily, and visited my doc. Pls balance your diet first.

Honestly, excess of anything is bad. For vegetarians like me, we worry about low iron, but if someone is taking too many supplements, high iron can actually trigger hair thinning. Better to get your blood report checked before popping any multivitamin pills.

Actually, my doctor told me that abnormally high iron can sometimes cause hair loss because it affects the body's mineral balance. I had to cut down on my heavy supplements and switch to a very simple diet. My hair fall got much better after that.

Oh god, I went through this exact same confusion last year! I thought more iron would make my hair grow, but high iron actually damages follicles. Don't worry too much, just get your serum ferritin tested. It's super easy to fix once you know the exact numbers.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai. Log sochte hain iron badhane se baal acche honge, par zyada hone se ulta asar hota hai. Pehle toh checkup karwao jo saste mein ho jata hai kisi bhi lab se. Doctor jo bolenge wahi follow karo, khud se supplements mat khao.

Dekho boss, excess iron is toxic for the body and hair loss is just one sign. Stop taking random supplements without a prescription. Go to a good lab, get a complete blood count and iron profile done today, and show it to a proper doctor.
