Can high ferritin cause hair loss?

My hair is falling out a lot, and my recent blood test showed high ferritin levels, though my iron itself is normal. Can high ferritin actually be a cause for hair loss? I thought usually low iron caused it.

Usually, low iron causes hair loss, but high iron or ferritin in the body is also not good and can cause internal issues. You can drink Amla juice for general hair health, but please show your reports to a doctor to balance your iron levels.

High ferritin is often linked to inflammation in the body, which can definitely cause hair fall. Having PCOS taught me that internal inflammation affects everything. Please check with a doctor instead of taking random hair supplements.

Wait, I thought only low iron causes hair fall! High ferritin can also be a sign of some infection or inflammation causing hair loss. Better get it checked by a doctor soon.

Yes, abnormally high ferritin levels can indicate chronic inflammation or iron overload, both of which affect hair growth. Go to a good hospital and ask your doctor clearly about finding the root cause.

I didn't know high ferritin could also be a reason for hair fall. Actually, my reports also showed slightly high ferritin, should I see a general physician or a skin specialist first?
