Can high cortisol cause hair loss?

I've been under a lot of stress lately, and I'm also experiencing a lot of hair fall. Someone mentioned that high cortisol levels due to stress could cause hair loss. Is there truth to this?

Yes, absolutely. High cortisol is the stress hormone, and it pushes hair follicles into a resting phase, causing massive shedding. Focus on sleeping 8 hours, try meditation, and get your thyroid checked just in case.

I ignored my hair loss and constant stress for months, thinking it was just work load. It turned out to be an endocrine issue with high cortisol. Please get a proper doctor's consult and blood test before it gets worse.

Haan, stress hormone cortisol levels increase hone se hair fall bahut badh jata hai. Life mein thoda chill kiya karo na, and go see a doctor to get your hormone levels checked.

Don't fall for internet hacks or expensive anti-hairfall shampoos. High cortisol is a medical issue related to stress or adrenal glands. Get a serum cortisol test done and consult an endocrinologist.

Yes, cortisol can trigger a condition called telogen effluvium, where hair falls out in clumps. It is practical to look at your stress levels, but also check your iron and B12 levels with a doctor to get the full picture.
