Can hair dryer cause dandruff?

I use my hair dryer almost every day, especially during the monsoon season. Lately, I've been struggling with a lot of dandruff and an itchy scalp. Is there a chance that using the hair dryer so often is actually causing or worsening my dandruff problem?

Our scalp is very sensitive, and too much dry heat can disturb its natural balance. Try to let your hair dry naturally under the morning sun sometimes. Stay positive and take care of your body.

The dry heat from dryers can dry out your scalp, which looks like dry flakes but isn't always actual fungal dandruff. Keep yourself hydrated, eat clean, and use the cool setting on your dryer.

I used to feel so embarrassed by the white flakes on my black tops and blamed my dryer. It was actually just dry scalp flaking from the heat, which felt so frustrating. Using a moisturizing serum really helped.

I literally just solved this last month. I stopped using the highest heat setting on my dryer and switched to cool air. The dry flaking on my scalp completely disappeared within two weeks.

Don't stress, it's just the hot air drying out your skin and causing mild flaking. Just keep the dryer a bit further away and use it on a medium heat setting. Your scalp will heal soon.

I know how worrying it is when you suddenly see flakes and think it's a severe scalp issue. Usually, it is just the heat sucking the moisture out of your scalp. Try a gentle oil massage before washing.
