Can hair colour cause cancer?

I've been coloring my grey hair for years now, almost every month. My sister recently told me she read that some hair dyes might be linked to cancer. Is there any real scientific evidence that hair color can cause cancer?

Modern hair dyes undergo rigorous safety testing, so the risk is extremely low compared to older formulations. However, if you have a family history or skin sensitivities, talking to a dermatologist is your best bet for peace of mind.

Don't worry, modern hair dyes are highly regulated and there is no solid proof connecting them to cancer.

I was actually researching this online because my dad colors his hair every month. Most studies say there's no strong link with modern dyes, but it is always safer to use ammonia-free products.

I am a bit scared to color my hair for the first time after reading such things online. Does anyone know if herbal or organic colors are completely safe to use instead?

With the amount of pollution we breathe daily, hair dye is probably the least of my worries! Jokes aside, modern dyes are quite safe, just don't keep them on for hours thinking it will make them darker.
