Can haemochromatosis cause weight gain?

I was diagnosed with haemochromatosis a few years ago and have been managing it. Recently, I've started gaining weight, and I'm not sure why. Can haemochromatosis itself or its treatment lead to weight gain?

Ah, another fancy medical word to blame my belly on! Honestly, haemochromatosis is usually known for causing fatigue and joint pain rather than direct weight gain. But when you are too tired to move, the pounds do crawl up. Better get those iron levels checked.

Bro, my cousin has this and he was actually losing weight because of liver issues related to it. If u are gaining weight suddenly, it could be something else or just stress. Definitely consult a doc instead of guessing on the internet.

Too much iron in the body sounds like a weird superpower, but the fatigue is so real. I can barely stay awake, let alone burn calories, which probably explains my weight creeping up. Go see a specialist, self-diagnosing this is a nightmare.

Actually, haemochromatosis direct weight gain nahi karata, par fatigue aur joint pain ki wajah se physical activity kam ho jaati hai na. Usse thoda weight badh sakta hai. Ek baar proper checkup kara lo doctor se.

I deal with thyroid issues and know how easily hormone changes cause weight fluctuations. Since haemochromatosis can affect organs like the thyroid or pancreas, it can indirectly mess with weight. You must get regular blood tests and follow up with an endocrinologist.

I have been managing haemochromatosis for five years now. While weight gain isn't a primary symptom, the damage to metabolic organs can cause it if left untreated. Keep a strict eye on your iron panel, follow the phlebotomy schedule, and eat a balanced diet.

I am also dealing with high iron levels and noticing some unexplained weight gain lately, which is making me super anxious. Did anyone else here experience weight issues before starting their venesection treatments? Please let me know.
