Can greasy hair cause hair loss?

Having always had oily hair, I've recently noticed more hair fall than usual. My friend said greasy hair can cause hair loss, is that true?

Haan, agar baal bohot tel chipchipa rahega toh mitti jam jati hai aur baal jhadne lagte hain. Hafte me do baar acche se shikakai ya halka shampoo lagaya karo. Jyada chinta mat karo, sab theek ho jayega.

Don't stress too much about it. Extremely greasy hair can sometimes clog your hair follicles and lead to a bit of shedding, but it's not a permanent hair loss issue. Just wash your scalp regularly with a gentle clearing shampoo and keep it clean.

Yes, excessive grease can build up on the scalp, block follicles, and lead to hair fall. Keep your scalp clean by washing it 2-3 times a week.

Sometimes greasy hair and hair fall go hand-in-hand, but it could also be due to hormonal issues. I suffered from massive hair loss because of my thyroid levels. It's always best to get a simple blood test done and consult a doctor if it doesn't stop.

Oh God, I totally feel you, my scalp gets so oily in summers and my hair starts shedding! I started washing my hair every alternate day with a mild salicylic acid shampoo and it really helped. Just don't let the oil sit on your scalp for too long.
