Can glp-1 cause weight gain?

Someone at my gym mentioned GLP-1 as a new weight-loss drug, but then I read conflicting information. I'm wondering, can GLP-1 sometimes cause weight gain, even though it's often used for weight loss?

No, GLP-1 is specifically prescribed to help with weight loss and glycemic control. If you are noticing weight gain, you should review your calorie intake and consult your doctor to ensure your dosage is correct.

GLP-1 receptor agonists are scientifically proven to promote weight loss by delaying gastric emptying and reducing appetite. Gaining weight while on it is highly atypical. It is best to consult your endocrinologist to investigate the underlying cause.

Bro, GLP-1 is literally used for cutting down fat, it won't make you gain weight. If you are gaining, you might be eating high-calorie stuff without realizing it. Go talk to your doc and get it sorted.

My doctor explained that GLP-1 helps reduce cravings and body weight. If someone is gaining weight, it could be due to severe bloating, constipation, or insulin adjustments. You should definitely discuss this with your physician.

Absolutely not, GLP-1 does the exact opposite by suppressing your appetite. If your scale is going up, you might be retaining water or need to check your diet. Speak to your doctor to sort it out.
