Can gallbladder issue cause weight gain?

My mother has been struggling with unexplained weight gain recently, and we're exploring all possibilities. We're wondering if a problem with her gallbladder could be contributing to her putting on weight. Is there a connection?

Yes, actually! When my gallbladder was acting up, the heavy bloating made me look and feel like I had gained so much weight. Eating light and low-fat foods helped me a bit, but do get a doctor's opinion to sort it out.

I have been gaining weight and feeling super bloated, and someone suggested it might be a gallbladder issue. Did anyone else here experience sudden weight gain before their diagnosis? I am really worried about this.

When my wife had gallbladder issues, she had constant gas and felt very heavy, which looked like weight gain. We just got a simple abdominal ultrasound done at a local lab to find the stones. Getting a scan is the best practical starting point.

Usually, gallbladder problems cause weight loss because you avoid food to escape pain, but intense bloating can mimic weight gain. Don't speculate online, just go get an ultrasound done this weekend.

An underactive gallbladder can slow down fat metabolism and cause chronic water retention and bloating, making you feel heavier. It's a very common complaint. Please consult your physician for a routine liver and gallbladder checkup.

I manage high BP and have realized that poor digestion from gallbladder issues can make you inactive, which leads to weight gain. Keep a check on your diet, walk regularly, and make sure to get your annual health checkups.

My mother used to tell me that weak digestion slows down the whole body and makes you feel heavy. While home remedies like ginger water help with digestion, for gallbladder concerns, you must trust a doctor's advice and get a scan.
