Can gallbladder cause weight gain?

For the past few months, I've gained quite a bit of weight, and I can't seem to figure out why. My friend suggested it could be related to gallbladder issues. Is it actually possible for a problematic gallbladder to cause weight gain?

Actually, a struggling gallbladder can slow down your entire digestive tract, leading to heavy bloating and fluid retention. People often mistake this swelling and slow metabolism for actual fat gain. It is best to consult your physician for a proper checkup.

Yeah, I gained like 5 kgs in a month before my gallbladder surgery because my digestion completely stopped working. Everything I ate felt like it was just sitting in my stomach. Go get an ultrasound, it's the only way to know.

Between keeping up with my baby and having gallbladder issues, my sleep is zero and my weight is climbing. Honestly, the severe bloating makes me look like I am carrying another baby. Get it checked before your clothes stop fitting.

In my years, I have seen many family members struggle with gallbladder issues. Yes, the heavy feeling and weight gain can happen when your system is weak. Don't worry, once the doctor treats it, your body will feel light again.

Don't worry too much, but yes, metabolic sluggishness and heavy water retention are quite common with gallbladder problems. Just focus on eating light for now and book an appointment with your doctor. We will get this sorted out.

While weight loss is more commonly associated with gallbladder issues due to pain while eating, some individuals do experience weight gain or severe bloating due to metabolic changes. Consulting a medical specialist is the most logical step.

If you suspect this, get an abdominal ultrasound done. It usually costs around 1000 to 1500 rupees at a decent local lab, which is quite practical before paying high consultation fees to a specialist. Plan your tests accordingly.

Drinking warm water with lemon might help with the daily heavy feeling, but if you have persistent weight gain accompanied by sharp pain under your ribs, please don't ignore it. You must consult a doctor.

Don't believe people who tell you that some herbal tea will fix this and help you lose weight. If your gallbladder is dysfunctional, you need an actual medical diagnosis. Go see a qualified gastroenterologist.
