Can food poisoning give u a fever?

I had some packed food yesterday evening, and now I'm feeling really unwell with stomach upset and a slight fever. My mother said food poisoning usually just causes tummy issues. Does food poisoning also give you a fever?

Yes, it absolutely can; I had a 102-degree fever with food poisoning last summer after eating stale chicken. The fever is just your body's immune system fighting off the bacteria. Keep sipping on ORS or coconut water to stay hydrated, and if the fever doesn't come down in 24 hours, go see a doctor.

Yes, bacterial pathogens like Salmonella or Campylobacter are known to cause fever alongside digestive symptoms. My doctor told me that a low-grade fever is a normal inflammatory response, but a high or persistent fever indicates a more severe bacterial infection that might require specific treatment. Please consult a physician rather than self-medicating.

Since I have high blood pressure, I have to be extremely careful with food infections because dehydration can mess up my medications. Yes, food poisoning can cause a fever as your body fights the infection. If you have a high fever along with vomiting, please get checked by a doctor and monitor your vitals.

Haan beta, khana kharab hone se pet ke sath sath sharir mein bukhar bhi chadhta hai. Hamare yahan jab kisi ko aisa hota hai toh hum unhe thoda thoda nimbu-paani dete hain aur aaram karne ko kehte hain. Par bukhar agar jyada ho, toh turant doctor babu ko dikhana chahiye.

Oh, absolutely. I spent a whole night running to the bathroom with a raging fever and zero sleep after eating some dodgy street food. The fever is real, and the exhaustion is even more real. Take my advice: get off your phone, drink some electrolyte water, and consult a doc before you completely pass out from tiredness.
