Can folic acid deficiency cause hair loss?

My hair has been thinning quite a lot recently, and I'm looking into all possible causes. I read somewhere that a lack of certain nutrients can lead to this. Can a folic acid deficiency specifically cause hair loss?

Yes, absolutely. I log my daily micronutrients on an app and realized my B-vitamin intake was quite low when I started noticing severe hair thinning. Folic acid is vital for cell division in hair follicles. Once I tracked and fixed my diet with more greens and a doctor-approved supplement, my hair fall reduced significantly.

Oh, definitely! My comb was starting to look like a small bird's nest until I found out I had a folic acid deficiency. Turns out our hair needs vitamins just as much as we need our daily tea. Get your levels checked before you spend thousands on fancy hair serums that won't work anyway!

Yes, a deficiency can definitely weaken your hair roots and lead to shedding. Along with eating folate-rich foods like broccoli and spinach, I find that a daily 30-minute brisk walk really helps boost overall blood circulation, which is great for scalp health. Just make sure to get a proper checkup from a doctor first.

Yes, folic acid deficiency is a very common cause of temporary hair loss. A simple blood test and some doctor-prescribed supplements can easily fix this issue.

Yes, it is a proven medical fact that B-vitamin deficiencies directly impact hair health and cause shedding. Don't waste your money on expensive shampoos or home remedies. Go get a basic vitamin profile blood test done, consult a dermatologist, and take targeted supplements if you are deficient.

It definitely can. I always tell people at the gym that you can't out-train a bad diet; if your micronutrients like folic acid are low, your body prioritizes vital organs over hair growth, leading to hair loss. Focus on clean eating with plenty of green veggies, lentils, and get a doctor's advice on supplements.

At this point in my life, my hair seems to be leaving my head faster than my kids leave the house! Joking aside, my doctor did mention that folic acid deficiency was making my hair fall worse than usual. I started taking the prescribed tablets, and while I'm not growing a mane, the shedding has definitely slowed down.

I was actually researching this because my hair has been shedding like crazy lately. I found out that folic acid helps produce red blood cells, which carry oxygen to your hair follicles; without it, your hair literally starves and falls out. I'm definitely going to get my blood levels tested this week.
