Can fibromyalgia cause hair loss?

Since I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, I've noticed my hair thinning quite a bit, which is bothering me. I'm not sure if it's just stress or if it could be related to the fibromyalgia itself. Does fibromyalgia cause hair loss?

The stress of constant body pain can certainly cause your hair to fall out, my child. You can try gently applying lukewarm coconut oil mixed with a little curry leaves to nourish your scalp. But do not use heavy pressure, and consult your doctor for proper treatment.

Fibro stress can cause hair loss, but since I have thyroid issues, I must warn you to check your TSH levels too. Sometimes thyroid imbalances mimic fibro symptoms and cause heavy hair fall. Please get your regular blood tests done and follow up with your doctor.

Yes, the chronic stress and medications from fibromyalgia can definitely lead to hair loss. It is a very common but frustrating symptom.

I completely understand how heartbreaking it is to see clumps of hair in the drain while already dealing with fibro pain. I tried onion juice, aloe vera, and various herbal shampoos, but honestly, reducing my stress levels and talking to my doctor about my meds was what finally helped.

I logged my hair shedding cycles on my health tracker and noticed they peak right after major fibromyalgia pain flares. The physical stress triggers telogen effluvium, which is temporary hair thinning. Try tracking your pain levels and sleep quality, it really helps connect the dots.

My daughter faced severe hair thinning after her fibromyalgia flare-ups because of the sheer physical stress and lack of proper sleep. We focused on giving her nutrient-dense foods like almonds and fresh amla juice to help her body recover. Please take care of your nutrition during this tough phase.

Yes, chronic pain drains the body's nutrient reserves, leading to hair fall. I suggest focusing on a clean vegetarian diet rich in protein and iron, like sprouts, paneer, and pumpkin seeds to support hair health. Don't take any supplements without your doctor's nod, though.
