Can enlarged thyroid cause weight gain?

I've been diagnosed with an enlarged thyroid recently, and I've also put on a lot of weight even though I'm eating carefully and exercising. Is it possible that my enlarged thyroid is causing this weight gain?

Actually yaar, my sister had this issue. Her neck was looking slightly swollen and she put on like 8 kgs in two months. Once she started the thyroid pills her metabolism got better.

Our bodies sometimes lose balance due to stress. Keep a positive mind, eat fresh fruits, and do some daily meditation. With proper care and the doctor's help, your weight and health will return to normal.

I have PCOS and sometimes thyroid issues overlap with it. It can definitely slow down your metabolism and cause weight gain, but it's best not to guess and get a proper thyroid profile blood test done first.

I totally get it, struggling with unexplained weight gain can be so frustrating. An underactive thyroid gland, which often gets enlarged, is a very common culprit behind this. Please get tested soon so you can feel like yourself again.

Don't believe people who tell you to cure thyroid with coriander water or diet hacks. An enlarged thyroid needs proper evaluation by an endocrinologist and a blood test to check T3, T4, and TSH levels.

Yes, hypothyroidism often leads to a goiter (enlarged thyroid) and a slower metabolism, causing weight gain and fatigue. Get your blood tested, and once your doctor adjusts your daily thyroid hormone dose, your weight will gradually stabilize.
