Can ectopic pregnancy kill you?

I was reading some online forums and came across a very scary story about ectopic pregnancy. It mentioned serious complications. I'm worried – can an ectopic pregnancy actually be life-threatening?

Yes, an ectopic pregnancy can be life-threatening if it ruptures and causes severe internal bleeding. It is a major medical emergency. If you have positive pregnancy tests and experience sharp lower abdominal pain, please see a gynecologist immediately.

Actually yaar, ectopic pregnancy is extremely dangerous because the baby cannot develop outside the uterus. If the tube bursts, it can cause severe internal bleeding. Please don't take any pain lightly during early pregnancy.

My gynecologist told me that a ruptured ectopic pregnancy is one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in the first trimester. The bleeding can happen very quickly. Please go to an emergency room if you have sharp pelvic pain or spotting.

This is definitely not something to search about on the internet and stress. It is a serious medical emergency, so if there is any severe pain or bleeding in early pregnancy, skip the forums and go straight to a doctor.

An ectopic pregnancy is a physical blockage where the egg implants in the wrong place, and it requires immediate medical intervention. Please do not delay and seek hospital care right away.

This sounds so scary. Is there any way to know if a pregnancy is ectopic before it becomes dangerous, or is an early ultrasound the only way to detect it?
