Can eating less cause weight gain?

I'm trying to lose weight, so I've drastically cut down on my food portions. But instead of losing, I feel like I'm actually gaining weight or at least not losing any. Can eating too little food actually cause weight gain or hinder weight loss?

Yes, extreme calorie restriction can slow down your metabolism, leading to weight gain when you eat normally. Try eating balanced regular meals instead.

Hey, don't stress too much about starving yourself to lose weight! When you eat too little, your body goes into panic mode and holds onto fat, which actually stops you from losing weight. Just eat healthy, regular meals and trust the process.

Yes, severe starving slows down your metabolism and can actually lead to long-term weight gain.

If you are eating very less and still gaining weight, it could be due to hormonal issues like thyroid or PCOS. Please don't self-diagnose or starve further; get your blood tests done and consult a doctor for a proper checkup.

Starving yourself slows down your metabolic rate, making it harder to burn calories. A much better approach is to eat small, balanced meals and include a 30-minute brisk walk daily, which keeps your metabolism high and active.
