Can eat pineapple during pregnancy?

Someone told me that eating pineapple can cause miscarriage, so I've completely avoided it since I found out I'm pregnant. I love pineapple, especially in summer. Is this really true, or can I have it in moderation?

Haan na, even I was so confused about pineapple during my time. People say it has bromelain which can cause issues, but a small slice of ripe pineapple is usually fine. Still, green raw ones avoid karo, and start working on your doctor's advice first, ho na.

The concern with pineapple is an enzyme called bromelain, which can break down proteins and potentially soften the cervix if consumed in massive quantities. My wife's gynecologist explained that eating a few slices of ripe pineapple occasionally won't cause any harm. But to be safe, avoid consuming large amounts or drinking concentrated pineapple juice.

Why take any risk with pineapple when we have so many other common fruits available ghar pe? Apples, bananas, and oranges are cheap, safe, and easily available everywhere. Just skip pineapple for a few months to keep your mind at peace, simple as that.

I know how hard it is to resist that tangy-sweet pineapple craving, especially when you want a nice fruit chaat! Honestly, a tiny piece here and there won't hurt, but don't go eating a whole bowl of it. If you are worried, maybe swap it with some sweet mosambi or grapes for now.

As someone who had to manage gestational diabetes, I had to be extremely careful with sweet fruits like pineapple anyway because they can cause quick sugar spikes. If you do eat it, keep the portion very small, but honestly, it is safer to discuss your complete diet and sugar levels with your doctor first.

Bro, my bhabhi was craving pineapple cake last year and we had to call her doctor to check. The doc said a small slice of cake or ripe fruit is totally fine, but avoid raw pineapples or heavy juice. Better not to overdo it, just keep it very minimal.

There are so many mixed opinions online about pineapple during pregnancy, so it is best not to guess. I always believe in checking with your doctor before making any changes to your diet. Let your gynaecologist give you the final go-ahead based on your health.

Don't rely on random internet forums or old wives' tales for pregnancy advice. Some websites say pineapple causes miscarriage, others say it is completely fine, which just creates unnecessary panic. Call your doctor's clinic and ask them directly, they are the experts.
