Can dulcolax be taken during pregnancy?

As a pregnant woman, I've been really struggling with constipation lately. Someone suggested taking Dulcolax for relief, but I'm hesitant to take any medication while expecting. Is it safe to use Dulcolax during pregnancy?

Please do not take Dulcolax or any other laxative during pregnancy without consulting your gynecologist first. Self-medication can be risky for the baby, so always get a green light from your doctor.

In our days, we relied on eating soaked prunes, warm milk with a little ghee at night, and plenty of water for constipation. Try these gentle natural methods first, and avoid taking strong tablets unless your doctor specifically tells you to.

Don't stress, constipation is very common during pregnancy, but please don't pop pills on your own. Call your doctor's clinic and ask for a safe pregnancy-friendly stool softener. They will guide you safely.

It is best to avoid it unless prescribed. Always ask your gynaecologist before taking laxatives during pregnancy.

I agree that you shouldn't self-medicate. My sister was prescribed a different syrup instead of Dulcolax during her pregnancy, so check with your doc.

Laxatives can sometimes cause dehydration, which isn't good for your blood pressure or the baby. Focus on a high-fiber diet and regular walking, and make sure your doctor monitors all your medications during your regular checkups.
