Can drinking too much water cause kidney stones?

I make sure to drink a lot of water every day, sometimes more than 3-4 liters, thinking it's great for detoxification and health. But then, I read online that drinking *excessive* water could actually lead to kidney stones in some cases. Is there a limit, or is this just a myth?

Actually, drinking too little water is what causes kidney stones, not drinking too much. I ignored my low water intake for months, had terrible back pain, and ended up with a huge stone. If you are experiencing any sharp pain in your back or sides, please go get a kidney scan done immediately.

With my thyroid issues, I have to be very careful with water and electrolyte balance. Drinking normal amounts of water actually prevents stones, but extremely excessive drinking can flush out essential minerals. It's always best to get regular blood tests and consult your doctor to find the right daily fluid target for your body.

I used to worry about this too because I drink a lot of water throughout the day. But I searched online and spoke to a nurse, and they said drinking water actually dilutes the minerals that form stones. Just stick to a normal level of 8-10 glasses a day and you're good to go!

Haan na, drinking water actually helps to clear out stones, it doesn't cause them! But yes, drinking insane amounts of water unnecessarily isn't good either. Just drink when you're thirsty and keep it balanced, simple as that.

Man, I barely get 5 hours of sleep, and if I drank 'too much' water, I'd be running to the washroom all night instead of resting! But seriously, water is supposed to wash away kidney stones, not cause them. Just don't overdo it to the point where you live in the toilet.

In our family, elders always say that water is the best natural medicine to clear any heat in the body. My doctor also confirmed that drinking adequate water is the number one defense against kidney stones. However, pushing your body to drink 6-7 liters daily can strain your kidneys, so stick to a healthy 2.5 to 3 liters.

Don't worry, drinking water is actually your best friend to prevent kidney stones, so you can relax. Just don't go to extremes and force yourself to drink huge quantities all at once. Listen to your body, drink when you're thirsty, and you'll be perfectly fine.

Arrey nahi bhai, paani zyada peene se pathri nahi hoti, balki paani kam peene se hoti hai na. Agar aap kam paani piyoge toh urine thick ho jayega aur stones banenge. Haan, extreme over-hydration bhi mat karo, par din mein 2-3 litre paani toh bilkul normal aur zaroori hai.
