Can drinking green tea cause hair loss?

I started drinking green tea every day a few months back for its health benefits. Around the same time, I noticed my hairfall has increased significantly. Could there be a connection between drinking green tea and losing hair?

No, this is completely wrong information. Green tea is actually full of antioxidants like EGCG that are supposed to help promote hair growth, not cause loss. If you are losing hair, look at your stress levels, sleep, or generic male-pattern baldness rather than blaming green tea.

I drink green tea only because I eat too many chole bhature and momos and want to balance my guilt! Honestly, I have never seen it cause hair fall. If anything, it might help digest all that heavy food, so don't worry and enjoy your cup.

I've been drinking two cups of green tea daily for the past three years for my fat loss journey. My hair density is exactly the same as before, no extra shedding at all. Just don't drink it on an empty stomach because that can cause acidity and mess up your digestion.

Bro, my hair was falling out like crazy during semester exams. I thought it was because of the green tea I started drinking for fitness, but my doc said it was just exam stress and bad sleep. Green tea is actually safe, so dont worry about it.

I am planning to start drinking green tea to help with my skin and fitness, but I am very scared because my hair is already quite thin. Should I drink it only once a day to be safe? Please tell me if there is a specific brand that is gentle.

Green tea is highly beneficial but moderation is key in any vegetarian diet. If you drink too much of it, the tannins can sometimes block iron absorption from your meals, and low iron definitely causes hair loss. Keep a gap of at least one hour between your food and green tea.
