Can drinking alcohol cause stomach pain?

Sometimes after having a few drinks, I get this uncomfortable stomach pain and burning sensation. I usually attribute it to something I ate, but I'm starting to wonder if the alcohol itself is the cause. Can drinking alcohol directly cause stomach pain?

Yes, alcohol can irritate your stomach lining, leading to gastritis or acid reflux, which causes sharp pain. Since persistent stomach pain can also indicate more serious issues like pancreatitis, it is highly recommended to consult a doctor if the pain is severe.

My friend ignored his post-drinking stomach pain and ended up spending thousands on emergency ultrasound and medicines. A simple lifestyle change and cutting out alcohol is completely free. Please stop drinking before you end up with heavy hospital bills.

Alcohol directly triggers excess acid production in your stomach and can cause inflammation called gastritis. Try taking a mild antacid if it is just normal acidity, but if the pain is severe or you vomit blood, go to the clinic immediately.

Alcohol absolutely disrupts your gut microbiome and causes bloating and stomach cramps. I noticed my digestion improved massively once I cut out alcohol and focused on a clean diet and morning workouts. Give your gut a break for a week and see the difference.

I used to panic every time my stomach hurt after a night of drinking, thinking it was something fatal. My doctor reassured me that it is usually just severe acidity and gas from the alcohol. I stopped drinking on an empty stomach and now I feel totally fine.
