Can diet cause hair loss?

I've been on a strict diet lately to lose some weight, and I've noticed my hair falling out more than usual. Could my diet be the reason for this increased hair loss? I'm getting a bit worried.

Bro, yes! In my first year of college, I was living on instant noodles and cheap burgers, and my hair got so thin. Once I started eating PG meals with proper vegetables and eggs, my hair shedding actually stopped.

I can only share what happened to me, but when I did a very strict keto diet last year, my hair started falling out like crazy after two months. My scalp became so dry too. I had to go back to regular home food with a lot of daal and rice to make it stop.

Yes, crash dieting or a lack of iron and protein in your meals will definitely trigger hair shedding.

Absolutely. If you don't eat enough protein, your body stops sending nutrients to your hair because it thinks survival is more important. I learned this the hard way during a bad fat-loss phase. Keep your protein intake high.

My hair basically goes on a strike if I don't feed it proper nutrients. Skipping meals and eating junk is like telling your hair 'bye-bye'. Just eat your paneer and almonds if you want to keep your head covered!
