Can diabetics get teeth implants?

My dentist suggested I get some teeth implants done to replace my missing teeth. I have had diabetes for quite some time now, and I'm concerned about complications. Is it generally okay for a diabetic person to get teeth implants?

Yes, you can, but bone healing around the implant takes longer if your sugar is fluctuating. Dentists usually look for an HbA1c level below 7 or 7.5 before starting the procedure to minimize implant failure. Just get your latest blood reports done first.

In our family, we always focus on keeping the gums strong with warm salt water gargles and neem twigs, but for something major like implants, you cannot rely on home remedies. Go to a good dental surgeon. Make sure they know about your diabetes and coordinate with your physician.

Please don't worry, many people with diabetes get dental implants successfully these days. Just follow your dentist's instructions carefully and take your regular medicines on time.

Implants are already quite expensive, so you don't want the procedure to fail and waste your hard-earned money. Budget for a few extra blood tests like HbA1c and follow-up visits beforehand. It is better to spend a little on tests first to make sure your sugar levels are perfect for surgery.

I was actually reading up on this because my dad needs dental implants soon. It seems totally possible as long as the diabetes is well-managed, though the healing process might be slightly slower compared to others.

Listen, don't stress too much about it! My uncle had the exact same issue and he got his implants done smoothly last month. Just find a reliable dentist, keep your sugar in check, and you will be absolutely fine.
