Can diabetic nerve damage be cured?

My husband has severe diabetic nerve damage, especially in his feet, which causes him a lot of pain and numbness. We've tried many treatments, but nothing seems to cure it completely. Can diabetic nerve damage actually be cured, or is it a lifelong condition?

Yes, true nerve damage cannot be fully reversed, but controlling your sugar levels can stop it from getting worse and relieve the pain.

It is hard to cure it fully, child, but you can get immense relief. Massaging your feet gently with lukewarm sesame oil at night helps improve blood circulation. Also, having a pinch of cinnamon powder with warm water in the morning keeps sugar low.

My son has type 1 diabetes and we had to be very careful about his nerve health. We monitor his blood glucose four times a day to avoid any nerve damage. If you already have symptoms, check your feet daily for any cuts and consult your physician immediately.

I completely understand how terrifying it is when you start feeling numbness, I used to panic thinking I would lose my feet. It's totally normal to feel scared, but once you get a proper checkup and bring your HbA1c down, the anxiety and the pain both improve a lot.

I understand how painful and frustrating this must be for you. Please take care of your feet and keep your sugar levels stable; things will definitely get more manageable with time.

There were nights when the burning in my feet was so bad that I just sat and cried, feeling like my body was failing me. It is incredibly tough emotionally, but please know that once your sugars stabilize, the intense pain does settle down. Stay strong.

Haan na, nerve damage can be so irritating. Once the nerves are damaged, they don't heal completely, ho na. But keeping a strict eye on diet and taking prescribed vitamins helps a lot in reducing the tingling.

Honestly, the buzzing and tingling in my toes keeps me awake till 3 AM. While the doctor says the nerves won't magically repair, I've found that keeping sugar in check is the only way to get a decent night's sleep without counting sheep.

I have been dealing with diabetic neuropathy in my feet for three years. The numbness doesn't go away completely, but taking methylcobalamin supplements as prescribed by my doc and walking on soft grass has really helped reduce the burning sensation.

While established nerve damage or neuropathy is generally considered irreversible, it is highly manageable. Keeping your HbA1c strictly within your target range is key to preventing further deterioration. Please consult a neurologist for specific nerve-pain medications.
