Can diabetes hearing loss be reversed?

My father has had hearing loss for a few years, and he also has advanced diabetes. Someone told us diabetes can affect hearing. Can this type of hearing loss actually be reversed?

Honestly I don't know if it reverses completely but don't ignore it. Just like with my thyroid, keeping regular doctor visits and checking your blood sugar levels constantly is the only way to stop things from getting worse. Go get a proper hearing test done soon.

My son had some hearing trouble when his sugar spiked badly last year. The doc told us that keeping sugars in check can help stop further damage, but some loss can be permanent. Please take care and get him checked by an ENT specialist immediately.

I can totally understand how terrifying this must feel, I literally stay up all night Googling health symptoms too. It is so scary but please take a deep breath. Getting your blood sugar controlled really helps the body heal, so focus on that first.

It is really tough dealing with this. Just try to keep your sugar levels stable and follow whatever your doctor says. Sending you lots of strength, hope you feel better soon.

Bro, my uncle had this same hearing issue due to high sugar. He got his HbA1c down and his hearing actually improved a little bit, but not 100%. Don't waste time and just consult a specialist to see where you stand.

Haan na, sugar can affect the ears also, I didn't know this earlier. But don't stress too much, once you control the sugar, thoda improvement might happen. Just meet a good doc once, ho na?

You can try having thoda amla and keeping a clean diet to control diabetes naturally, it helps a lot with circulation. But honestly, hearing loss is a serious thing. Pls see an audiologist right away instead of just trying home remedies.

At 50, my body keeps finding new ways to surprise me, and now hearing loss because of diabetes is also on the list! Jokes apart, reversing it completely might be tough, but managing your diet will definitely prevent you from needing to shout at everyone.

Please don't do what I did and ignore small changes in your body, thinking they will go away on their own. I delayed my eye checkups and regretted it later. Go run to an ENT and your diabetologist today itself.

High blood glucose damages the tiny blood vessels in your ears. Keeping a strict low-carb vegetarian diet with lots of leafy greens and fiber can help manage your sugar spikes. If you control the diet, further hearing damage can definitely be avoided.

Think of it as a temporary superpower to ignore annoying relatives! But seriously, don't ignore it. Get your sugar down and go see a doctor, hopefully your ears will start cooperating again soon.

I didn't even know diabetes could cause hearing issues, this sounds really scary. Does it happen suddenly or does it take years of high sugar? I hope your doctor can help you fix this soon.
