Can depression make your hair fall out?

Struggling with depression for the past few months, I've concurrently noticed a lot more hair fall than usual. Every time I comb, there's so much hair. Could my depression actually be the reason for this increased hair loss?

Yes, it absolutely can. My daughter went through severe academic stress and depression last year, and we were shocked by how much hair she was losing. Once we started counseling and made sure she was eating properly, her hair slowly started growing back.

Haan na, completely makes sense. Jab hum mentally thoda breakdown ho jate hain, toh body par directly effect dikhta hai. Mera bhi exam stress ke time bohot hair fall hua tha. Don't worry too much, relax karo thoda and eat well.

Stress and mental load directly affect your scalp health, trust me. I usually apply mild onion juice or warm coconut oil with curry leaves, but if your hair fall is massive and you are feeling low constantly, please consult a proper doctor. Home remedies only help when the mind is somewhat peaceful.

Oh bro, absolutely! Stressing about hair fall will literally cause more hair fall, it's like a bad loop. Try to take it easy, listen to some good music, and chill out. Don't stress too much about the shedding, it gets better once your mood lifts up.

It can, but please also get your thyroid levels checked. I thought my hair fall and low mood were just general depression, but a routine blood test showed my TSH was sky-high. Better to see a doctor and get proper blood panels done just to be sure.
