Can depo cause hair loss?

I've been on the Depo shot for almost a year now and recently, I've noticed a lot of hair fall, especially when I comb my hair. Could this be because of the injection? My friends are saying it's normal but I'm getting worried.

Oh god, yes! Hormonal shots can definitely trigger hair thinning, which is so annoying when you just want to enjoy life and good food without stressing. Make sure you are eating a protein-rich diet with lots of nuts and seeds to help support your hair strength.

Hormonal changes from contraceptive shots like Depo-Provera can sometimes cause temporary hair shedding. Since hormones affect the entire body's balance, keeping your general health in check with regular doctor follow-ups is very important, just like how I manage my blood pressure.

Yes, Depo can cause hair thinning for some women due to the progestin hormone, which is similar to what happens in PCOS. It's a known side effect, but please consult your gynecologist before making any changes, as they can recommend a better alternative for your body.

Yes, hair loss is a listed side effect of Depo because of the hormonal shift. Track your symptoms on a health app to see if the shedding peaks at a certain point after the shot. Sharing this data with your doctor will make it much easier to find an alternative.

Many women complain about hair fall after starting contraceptive injections. Before buying expensive hair oils, talk to your doctor about whether a multivitamin or biotin supplement would help. Simple dietary changes usually work best.
