Can cyclosporine cause hair loss?

I've been on Cyclosporine for my autoimmune condition for a few months now, and I'm quite concerned about a new side effect. I've noticed a significant amount of hair loss lately, and it's making me very self-conscious. Can Cyclosporine cause hair loss?

I completely understand how devastating it is to see clumps of hair falling out while on this medication. I used to cry every time I brushed my hair. It is a very real side effect, so please be gentle with yourself and talk to your doctor about this stress.

Yes, hair thinning can happen with immunosuppressants like cyclosporine. However, you should never stop taking this medication on your own because it is prescribed for serious conditions. Get your kidney function and drug levels checked by your doctor regularly.

When I was on cyclosporine for my skin condition, I did notice my hair getting a bit thin and dry. I didn't take any other medicines for it, just switched to a mild shampoo. It got much better once my doctor reduced the dosage later.

If you are busy with work and facing hair loss due to cyclosporine, don't waste time on random oils or home remedies. Directly schedule a quick call with your prescribing doctor. They can easily adjust the dose or suggest a safe supplement to manage the hair fall.

I panicked so much when my hair started shedding after starting this medicine! But my doctor reassured me that it is a common temporary side effect and often stops once your body adjusts. Don't worry, my hair health actually returned to normal after a few months.

I went through this and honestly, eating a protein-rich diet helped me cope. I made sure to include lots of paneer, eggs, and nuts in my meals to support my hair. A happy stomach definitely helps you deal with these annoying medicine side effects!
