I was on cortisone for joint pain and put on 5 kgs quickly. The trick is to strictly cut down on salt to prevent water retention and control those sudden sweet cravings. Once you taper off the dose, the weight will drop off easily.

Yes, cortisone can cause weight gain by increasing appetite and causing water retention. Since I have thyroid issues, I know how frustrating hormonal weight changes are. Please get your hormone levels checked regularly and keep your doctor updated.

Oh absolutely, cortisone makes you want to eat the entire fridge! I felt like a walking water balloon when I was on it. Just hide the snacks for a while and remember it is just the drug talking, not your actual appetite.

I can't comment on the medical side of it, but when I took cortisone injections for my back, I noticed my face looking a bit rounder and bloated. It went away on its own a few weeks after the treatment ended.

Steroids like cortisone are known to cause swelling and weight gain. Along with your doctor's medicine, drinking warm barley water or ginger tea can help reduce the water retention. Take care of your diet and avoid salty pickles.

Cortisone definitely causes weight gain and puffiness. I always prefer drinking warm water with cumin seeds to help digestion and bloating naturally. However, if you experience sudden breathlessness or extreme swelling, please consult your doctor immediately.

Our bodies sometimes go through temporary physical changes to heal. If cortisone is helping you recover, accept this phase with a positive mind. Keep eating wholesome, simple food and trust that your health will balance out soon.

Yes, it can cause weight gain and bloating. Please don't worry too much, this is a very common reaction to the medicine and it is usually temporary.

Listen, don't stress about the weight gain right now. Your body needs the cortisone to heal from whatever inflammation you have. Just focus on resting well, eating clean, and let the medicine do its job. We can worry about the extra weight later.

I am so terrified of steroid side effects, I literally check my weight three times a day when on meds. Yes, cortisone causes weight gain and water retention, and it's totally normal to feel anxious about it. Just talk to your doc about a tapering schedule to put your mind at ease.

Haan na, cortisone leads to weight gain and that typical 'moon face' bloating. Mere mausi ko bhi treatment ke waqt weight gain hua tha. But honestly, it is mostly water, so don't get too tense, it gets better.

Hey there. Yes, cortisone is a steroid, so it alters how your body deposits fat and holds onto water. It is a very common side effect, especially with longer courses or higher doses. Try to eat a low-sodium, high-protein diet while you are on it.
