Can cold cause teeth pain?

I have very sensitive teeth, and whenever I drink something cold or even breathe in cold air, I get a sharp pain. My dentist says it's sensitivity, but sometimes it feels more intense. Can cold temperatures actually cause teeth pain that is severe?

Sinus congestion often puts pressure on the upper jaw, causing dull teeth pain during a cold. Doing warm salt water gargles twice a day and using a warm compress on your cheeks can help relieve this pressure. If the pain doesn't subside after your cold goes away, you should visit a dentist.

Oh absolutely, this happened to me last winter! When your sinuses get congested, they press down on the roots of your upper teeth and it feels like a bad toothache. Try steam inhalation to clear the sinus pressure, but if the pain is very sharp and only in one tooth, it might be a dental issue that a dentist needs to check.

Hey, don't stress too much! It is actually super common for sinus congestion to make your upper teeth hurt. It feels weird but it usually goes away once your nose clears up. Just rest, take steam, and if it still hurts after a week, then think about seeing a dentist.

Between back-to-back meetings, a sinus-induced toothache is the worst. Sinus pressure often mimics dental pain because the roots of the upper teeth are very close to the sinus cavities. If the pain vanishes as your congestion clears, it was just the cold, otherwise you'll need to book a dentist appointment.

Clinically, the maxillary sinus sits right above your upper molars, so when it is inflamed due to a cold, it puts direct pressure on those nerve endings. Try using a saline nasal spray to reduce the congestion and ease the ache. If you develop a high fever or severe swelling, please consult a healthcare professional.

I am literally experiencing this right now and was getting so anxious thinking I have multiple cavities! Does anyone else get this dull ache in all upper teeth during a cold? I hope it is just sinus pressure and goes away soon, should I wait or see a dentist immediately?

Yes! Sinus pressure is the real culprit behind this 😅. When your nose is blocked, the pressure makes your upper teeth ache. Steam inhalation really works wonders for this. Stay warm and hope you feel better soon! ✨

Yes, sinus inflammation can definitely cause referred pain in your upper teeth. I experienced this during my winter training last year; keeping yourself hydrated and taking hot showers helped lower the pressure. But if the pain persists, get it checked by a doc instead of pushing through it.
