Can clonazepam cause hair loss?

I've been on clonazepam for my anxiety and sleep issues for a while. Recently, my hair has started to feel thinner and I'm finding more strands on my comb. Could clonazepam be causing this hair loss?

I was on clonazepam for anxiety last year and noticed significant hair shedding. My psychiatrist confirmed it can rarely cause hair loss. Once my doctor slowly tapered me off the medication, my hair fall stopped and started recovering.

Yes, hair loss is a rare but documented side effect of clonazepam. But please do not stop taking this psychiatric medicine suddenly on your own as that can cause severe withdrawal. Talk to your doctor to change the dose safely.

Having PCOS makes me extra cautious about hair loss. Clonazepam can sometimes affect hormone levels or cause stress-related shedding. It's best to discuss this side effect with your doctor rather than ignoring it.

Don't trust random online hair-growth hacks to fix this while you are on prescription meds. Clonazepam affects your central nervous system, and hair loss can be a side effect. Go and verify this directly with your doctor.

I visit Kokilaben Hospital for my treatments, and my doctor always emphasizes that we shouldn't tolerate severe side effects. If clonazepam is causing you hair loss, ask your doctor clearly about other anti-anxiety options available.
