Can chlamydia affect pregnancy?

My cousin is trying to conceive and was recently diagnosed with chlamydia. She's very worried. Can chlamydia affect her chances of a healthy pregnancy or cause complications?

I panicked like crazy when I was diagnosed during my first trimester, thinking the worst. But my gynecologist reassured me and said it's very treatable with simple antibiotics that are safe during pregnancy. Once I finished the course, everything was perfectly fine, so don't lose sleep over it.

Yes, it can cause complications like premature birth or get passed to the baby during delivery. My sister-in-law was told by her doctor to get screened early. While traditional family advice says to stay positive, it is very important to trust your obstetrician and get treated quickly.

I literally just finished my antibiotic course for this last week. My doctor caught it during a routine prenatal screening. It's scary but very easy to clear up with the right pills, so please get tested soon so you and the baby stay safe.

Yes, it absolutely can. Untreated chlamydia can lead to preterm labor or eye infections in the newborn. My realistic advice is to get both you and your partner tested and treated at the same time, otherwise, the infection will just keep coming back.

Actually yaar, it can cause issues like early labor, so you shouldn't ignore it. But the good thing is that doctors screen for it routinely now. Just get the test done, take the meds if needed, and you'll be absolutely fine, don't worry.

Please see a doctor immediately. If left untreated, it can lead to complications during delivery or even postpartum infections. I had a difficult pregnancy due to an ignored infection, so I highly recommend getting a proper gynecological checkup without delay.
