Can chewing gum cause weight gain?

I chew gum quite a lot, almost daily, especially after meals. My mother was telling me it might cause weight gain because of the sweeteners. Is it true that chewing gum can contribute to weight gain?

If you are chewing sugared gums all day, those extra calories can slowly add up without you realizing it. As someone managing high blood pressure, I have realized that overall lifestyle and small habits matter a lot. Better to focus on home-cooked food, regular walks, and getting your routine checkups done.

Yes, sugar-free gums can sometimes bloat your stomach and make you feel heavier. Try switching to warm water or green tea instead when you get cravings.

Chewing gum mindlessly often happens when we are anxious or restless, which affects our digestion. Just stay positive, eat mindfully with a calm spirit, and take good care of your body. Good health will naturally follow when your mind is at peace.

I used to chew 4-5 sugar-free gums daily thinking it would keep me from snacking, but it actually made me super bloated and hungry because of the artificial sweeteners. Since I stopped last month, my gut feels so much better and the constant bloating has finally gone down. Skip the gums, honestly.

Beta, these artificial chemical things are not good for our digestive fire. Chewing constantly trickles empty saliva into the stomach, making you feel unnecessarily hungry later. If you want to freshen your mouth, chew a little fennel seeds or cardamom instead, it is much healthier.
