Can carbon monoxide poisoning cause cancer?

My elderly father lives in an area with poor ventilation sometimes. I heard that long-term exposure to certain toxins can be harmful. Can carbon monoxide poisoning actually cause cancer, or is that not a concern?

Actually, I read about this in my biology class last semester. Carbon monoxide doesn't cause cancer, but it can literally choke your cells of oxygen in minutes, which is super dangerous. If you think there is a leak, just get out of there!

Carbon monoxide poisoning is an acute hazard that affects your oxygen levels, it is not directly linked to causing cancer. However, if you have recently been exposed, please see a doctor immediately to check your lungs, rather than trying any home remedies.

Hey, don't stress too much about the cancer part, buddy! Carbon monoxide is a gas that affects oxygen supply, not DNA mutations that cause cancer. Just make sure your gas geysers are well-ventilated and you are perfectly fine.

While carbon monoxide is not known to be carcinogenic, the lack of oxygen can cause severe brain and heart damage. I had a bad exposure incident once and needed emergency oxygen therapy. Please get checked by a doctor to rule out any internal damage.

Beta, carbon monoxide does not cause cancer, but it is a silent poison that stops your breathing. Always keep windows open where there is fire or gas running. If anyone feels dizzy, give them fresh air immediately and call a doctor.

I completely understand why you are worried, health anxiety makes us think the worst of every symptom. Thankfully, carbon monoxide poisoning doesn't lead to cancer. But if you have been exposed, please talk to a doctor to put your mind at ease.
