Can cancer make you put on weight?

Struggling with weight gain that doesn't seem to respond to diet or exercise, my family keeps saying I must be eating too much, but I don't think so. Is it possible for cancer to actually cause someone to put on weight?

Generally, people associate cancer with weight loss, but weight gain can absolutely happen. Certain fluid retentions, hormonal tumors, or steroids during treatment are the main culprits. Stop stressing and just get your blood reports checked by an expert.

Asha hai aap thik hain. Yes, weight gain can happen, especially if there is fluid buildup in the abdomen or if the treatment involves certain hormones. It's very important to track how fast this weight is increasing and share the pattern with your doctor.

I tried all kinds of herbal teas and detoxes when my weight started acting up, but honestly, home remedies don't help if it's a deeper medical issue. If there's sudden bloating or swelling, please don't wait. Let a doctor examine you properly.

When my mother had swelling, our family doctor explained that some cancers can cause fluid retention called ascites, which looks like rapid weight gain. Also, chemotherapy drugs and steroids can increase appetite and water retention. Definitely consult your oncologist for an accurate assessment.

Please don't ignore sudden, unexplained weight changes. I once brushed off my own symptoms thinking it was just lack of exercise, and regretted waiting so long when things got complicated. Go get your checkups done on time, it's better to be safe.
