Can cancer cause weight gain?

Struggling with unexplained weight gain for a while now, despite trying to eat healthy and exercise, I'm quite concerned. Everyone says cancer causes weight loss, but I was wondering if it could actually cause weight gain instead?

Please don't ignore sudden physical changes. I once ignored a bloating symptom which turned out to be serious, and I still regret not acting faster. If you are gaining unexplained weight or have abdominal swelling, get a proper medical checkup immediately.

Actually, cancer usually causes weight loss, but some hormonal cancers or treatments like steroids can make you gain weight or hold water. I totally understand how frustrating unexpected weight changes are. Just get some basic blood work done to see what is going on.

While managing my PCOS, I've realized that hormonal imbalances are the most common cause of sudden weight gain. While some cancer treatments or ovarian issues can lead to weight changes, please don't jump to scary conclusions. A doctor can easily check your hormone levels.

Usually, cancer makes people lose weight rapidly. If you are gaining weight, it is likely due to lack of activity, thyroid issues, or certain medications like steroids. Stop worrying unnecessarily and go get a proper diagnosis from a doctor.

Bro, my uncle actually gained weight during his cancer therapy because of the steroids and fluid retention they had to give him. The disease itself doesn't typically make u gain weight. If u are worried about it, just consult your doctor.
