Can biotin cause hair loss?

I started taking biotin supplements because everyone said it's good for hair growth, but actually my hairfall seems to have increased. Could biotin actually be causing my hair to fall out?

This sounds like another classic internet myth where people blame the cure for the problem. Biotin is literally prescribed to improve hair and nail strength, not cause hair loss. Go see a real dermatologist instead of listening to unverified claims online.

Haan na, actually biotin is taken to stop hair loss, so it's very rare for it to cause shedding. But sometimes, starting any new supplement can cause a temporary reaction in some people. It is better to check with your skin doctor once to be sure.

My health tracker app shows that a sudden spike in certain vitamins can sometimes affect your body's balance, but biotin itself doesn't cause hair loss. Usually, hair fall is linked to stress, sleep, or thyroid levels. I recommend getting a complete blood panel done to find the root cause.

Biotin is a B-complex vitamin that supports keratin production, so it is highly unlikely to cause hair fall. That said, excessive intake of any supplement without a confirmed deficiency is not advisable. It's best to consult a dermatologist to diagnose the exact cause of your hair loss.

No, biotin actually helps prevent hair loss. If you are experiencing shedding, please consult a dermatologist to find the real reason.

I have seen many people in this community ask this, and the short answer is no. Biotin deficiency causes hair loss, so supplementing it actually helps. However, if your hair fall is severe, it could be due to hormones or iron levels, so a proper checkup is always best.
