Can anaemia cause hair loss?

My hair has been falling out quite a bit lately, and I'm getting really concerned. I also found out recently that I have mild anaemia. Can anaemia actually be a cause for hair loss, or should I be looking at other reasons?

I've been noticing a lot of hair fall lately and someone told me it could be because of low iron. Is it really true that anemia causes hair loss, and does the hair grow back once we take iron supplements? Please help.

Yes, anemia is a very common cause of hair thinning because hair follicles don't get enough oxygen. However, you should get a proper blood test like Complete Blood Count and Ferritin levels checked first. Please don't start self-medicating with iron tablets without a doctor's advice.

I went through this exact same thing last year where bunches of my hair were falling out. Turns out my hemoglobin was down to 8! Once my doctor put me on iron supplements and I improved my diet, my hair fall completely stopped. Get your blood checked immediately.

Haan yaar, anemia se hair loss bilkul hota hai because hair roots ko nutrition nahi mil pata. Apne diet me thoda beetroot, spinach aur pomegranate shuru karo na. Aur ek baar doctor se milkar iron levels ka test zaroori se karwa lo.

I was crying every day looking at my hairbrush thinking I was going bald! But once I found out it was just mild anemia and started taking iron, my hair slowly grew back. It is a very common and reversible issue, so please don't panic.
