Can an ovulation predictor kit detect pregnancy?

My husband and I are trying for a baby, and I've been tracking my ovulation with OPKs. I saw some videos online saying that sometimes a positive OPK can mean you're pregnant. Can an ovulation predictor kit really detect pregnancy, or is that a myth?

While it is scientifically true that the LH hormone detected by ovulation kits is similar to the HCG hormone of pregnancy, using an OPK for pregnancy is highly unreliable. As someone with PCOS, our hormone levels are already erratic, so I really advise against relying on this. It's much safer to use a proper pregnancy test card.

I completely understand the anxiety and the urge to test with whatever you have at home during the two-week wait, it is emotionally exhausting. But using an OPK can give you confusing results and cause unnecessary heartbreak or stress. Please try to wait a couple of days and use a real pregnancy test for peace of mind.

Haan na, actually I also heard online that it works because LH and HCG are similar, but it's not a guarantee. Some friends got a positive OPK when they were pregnant, but many times it's just a false alarm. Better to use the actual pregnancy test card, tension nahi chahiye life mein.

I totally get it, waiting to find out if you are pregnant can make you want to try every trick in the book. But because ovulation tests can cross-react with other hormones, they aren't dependable for this. Sending you lots of positive vibes, and I hope you get a clear result on a real test soon!

Hey, don't stress too much! I know you are super curious, but an ovulation kit is just not designed to confirm a pregnancy. Go grab a regular pregnancy kit from the chemist tomorrow morning, it's cheap and will give you a clear, stress-free answer.

With my thyroid fluctuations, my hormone levels are often tricky, so I always rely on exact diagnostic tests rather than home workarounds. An ovulation kit measures LH, which is different from the HCG hormone that confirms pregnancy. Please stick to regular pregnancy tests and consult your doctor for a proper blood test if your periods are delayed.

I am new to trying to conceive and all these terms are a bit confusing to me. If an ovulation test can't reliably show pregnancy, how many days after a missed period should I wait to use a regular pregnancy test? Thank you so much for helping.
