Can an ectopic pregnancy resolve on its own?

A relative was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, and the doctor is suggesting treatment. She is hoping that maybe it can just go away by itself without any intervention. Is it possible for an ectopic pregnancy to resolve on its own sometimes?

Sometimes a very early ectopic pregnancy might resolve on its own, but you absolutely cannot rely on home remedies or wait for it to happen. It is a highly dangerous condition that can cause sudden internal bleeding. Please see a gynecologist immediately.

Even if there is a tiny chance it resolves naturally, you need extremely close monitoring with serial hCG blood tests and ultrasounds. Just like managing my thyroid, keeping track of regular blood reports is crucial here. Please stay in touch with your doctor every step of the way.

I am so worried about this too, can it really just go away without surgery? I read online that sometimes it dissolves, but I'm terrified of any sudden pain or emergency. Has anyone here actually had it resolve on its own without needing medicine or surgery?

In rare cases, a tubal abortion can happen where it resolves naturally, but my doctor told me it is too risky to just wait and see at home. Our elders might say to wait, but you must trust medical science here. Please get a proper scan done to see what the doctor recommends.

Oh god, please don't just wait for it to resolve on its own, it’s too stressful and honestly very dangerous! I would be constantly panicking about a rupture. Even if it is resolving, a doctor needs to confirm it with continuous blood tests. Please go to a hospital and get a professional opinion.

My wife had an ectopic pregnancy last year and we hoped it would just resolve, but the doctor said waiting is too risky because the tube can burst. She ended up needing a small injection to clear it safely. Definitely don't sit on this at home, go get it checked by a proper doc.
