Can an allergic reaction cause hair loss?

A few months ago, I had a really bad allergic reaction to a new hair product, mera pura scalp rash ho gaya tha. Since then, I've noticed significant hair fall. Could that allergic episode be the reason my hair is thinning now?

Yes, it can. I had a severe scalp allergy from a new shampoo last month and my hair was falling out in clumps. Once I stopped the product and the doctor gave me a soothing lotion, the shedding finally stopped.

Don't lose heart over this. In my younger days, a bad dye reaction made me lose quite a bit of hair. It takes a few months, but once the scalp heals and the allergy is gone, the hair naturally grows back.

Omg, is this actually happening to you too? I've been getting skin rashes and now my hairbrush is full of hair. Did anyone else face this and did any specific shampoo help you guys?

First, stop using all chemical hair oils and fancy shampoos immediately. Switch to a very mild, plain baby shampoo for a few days to see if the irritation goes down. If the scalp remains red and itchy, a dermatologist visit is the most practical step.

Sometimes internal food allergies can stress your system and cause hair shedding. Make sure you are eating clean, protein-rich vegetarian food like dals, paneer, and sprouts to support your hair health. Keep an eye on any specific foods that trigger your skin rashes too.

I ignored a hair dye allergy thinking it would go away, but it turned into a severe scalp infection and permanent thinning in one spot. Don't make my mistake. If your scalp is painful, oozing, or very itchy, see a skin specialist immediately.

Hey, don't worry! Hair grows back once your scalp gets some happy vibes and the allergy clears up. Just cut down on the styling tools for a bit and let your hair breathe.

I deal with chronic hair thinning due to my PCOS, so I know how exhausting hair issues are. Sometimes allergies can definitely trigger temporary shedding on top of existing issues. It's always best to get a doctor to check if it's just a local reaction or something hormonal.

Please don't start applying onion juice or random home packs you see on YouTube. If it's a real allergic reaction, those things can make your scalp irritation much worse. Go verify the actual issue with a qualified dermatologist first.

While you deal with the allergy, make sure your basic lifestyle is solid. Proper hydration, good sleep, and clean nutrition will help your body recover faster. Avoid intense sweaty workouts if your scalp is highly inflamed right now.

I totally understand how scary it is to see your hair fall out like this, it used to give me sleepless nights. Try to take a deep breath. Once you identify and remove the allergen, your body will recover and the hair fall will slow down.
