Yes, nausea and vomiting are very common during the initial phases of alcohol withdrawal because your central nervous system is highly unstable. If you cannot retain fluids, go to a good hospital immediately. Ask your doctor clearly for anti-emetic support.

I was researching about this, and it seems the body gets used to the sedative effects of alcohol. When you stop, the sudden hyper-activity of the brain triggers intense nausea and vomiting. It sounds extremely painful to go through.

Over the years, I have seen many people struggle with nausea when they try to quit drinking. It is a very normal part of the body cleaning itself out, don't worry too much. Keep taking small sips of water and rest as much as you can.

Continuous vomiting during withdrawal can cause severe dehydration, leading to expensive emergency hospitalizations. It is much more practical and budget-friendly to consult a general physician early and get basic medicines to manage the symptoms at home.

Oh, the classic dry heaves! Your stomach is basically throwing a protest because its favorite liquid guest has suddenly left the building. Keep some lime water handy and remember that this phase will pass soon, hang in there!
