Can alcohol withdrawal cause heart attack?

My neighbour, who was a heavy drinker, stopped suddenly and then had a heart attack a few days later. I've heard that withdrawal can be dangerous. Can alcohol withdrawal actually lead to something as serious as a heart attack?

I am very new to this, but does alcohol withdrawal really put that much pressure on the heart? Is it safe for someone to stop drinking suddenly at home, or should they be in a hospital? Please help me understand.

This is a serious medical emergency and you should not take chances. Sudden withdrawal can cause extreme cardiac stress, arrhythmias, and yes, even heart attacks. Go to a good hospital and ask a cardiologist to guide you safely through detox.

Do not trust anyone on the internet telling you to just drink juice or herbal tea to manage withdrawal symptoms. Severe withdrawal is life-threatening and can cause seizures or cardiac arrest. Go straight to a qualified doctor or hospital immediately.

Quitting alcohol is wonderful for the soul, but when the body is heavily dependent, sudden withdrawal shocks the nervous system and heart. While gentle breathing exercises can help calm the mind later, immediate medical supervision is absolutely necessary to keep the heart safe.

Withdrawal can cause your blood pressure and heart rate to shoot up to extremely dangerous levels. As someone managing high BP, I know this can easily trigger cardiovascular failures. Please get monitored by a doctor to avoid these fatal risks.
