Can alcohol withdrawal cause fever?

My brother is trying to quit drinking, and he's having a really tough time. He's developed a fever along with other symptoms. Can alcohol withdrawal actually cause a fever? We're a bit worried.

I totally get it, going through withdrawal is incredibly tough and scary. A fever during withdrawal means your nervous system is in overdrive, which can be dangerous. Please don't try to handle this alone, seek medical help immediately.

In my years, I have seen friends try to quit alcohol cold turkey and end up with high fevers and shakes. It is a very serious reaction of the body resetting itself. Please stay safe and let a doctor guide you through the process.

Alcohol withdrawal causes severe stress on the cardiovascular system, which can spike both your blood pressure and body temperature. Since I have high BP, I know how dangerous sudden spikes can be. Please get a proper medical checkup immediately.

The physical and emotional pain of withdrawal is real, and having a fever makes you feel so vulnerable and weak. Please know that you are doing the right thing by trying to quit, but your body needs medical supervision right now. Stay strong.

Bro, yes, alcohol withdrawal can absolutely cause a fever, and it is a major warning sign of Delirium Tremens. My friend tried to quit suddenly and got high fever and hallucinated. Don't play around with this, go to a clinic right now.
