Can alcohol cause vomiting?

Every time I drink even a little bit, I end up feeling nauseous and often throw up. My friends don't seem to have this problem. Is it common for alcohol to cause vomiting so easily?

Yes, absolutely, alcohol irritates the stomach lining and increases acid production, which leads to vomiting. The best way to avoid this is to never drink on an empty stomach and sip water between your drinks. If you still throw up, have ORS to replenish lost salts.

It can be so embarrassing and physically exhausting to deal with this, I completely understand what you are going through. I used to feel so much guilt and anxiety the next day. Just remember to be kind to yourself, rest well, and sip some warm ginger water slowly.

Vomiting after alcohol is your body's way of rejecting toxins, but it can also spike your blood pressure due to stress on the body. Since I suffer from high BP, I have to be very careful. If this happens often, please get your vitals and liver function checked by a doctor.

Be careful, because vomiting after drinking can lead to severe hypoglycemia, especially if you are diabetic. Your liver is busy processing alcohol instead of releasing glucose, which is very dangerous. If you cannot keep food down, please seek medical help immediately.

Dude, it happens to the best of us when we go a bit overboard, so don't stress too much! Just make sure you are resting up today and drinking lots of coconut water or lime juice. Next time, make sure you eat something greasy before you start drinking.

Alcohol acts as a gastrointestinal irritant and triggers the brain's vomiting center if consumed in excess. While occasional vomiting is a standard hangover response, frequent episodes can damage your esophagus. If this is a regular occurrence, consulting a gastroenterologist is highly recommended.

The stomach is a very sensitive organ, and alcohol disrupts its natural fire or Agni, leading to nausea. Taking deep, slow breaths can help calm the nervous system when you feel sick. Once your stomach settles, try some warm herbal tea to soothe the inner lining.
