Can alcohol cause thyroid problems?

My friend was recently diagnosed with thyroid issues, and she drinks quite a bit. She's worried if her drinking habits could have caused it. Just wondering if there's any connection between alcohol and thyroid problems.

In my experience, anything that disturbs the body's natural balance can affect the glands. Alcohol creates a lot of heat in the system and can disturb your hormones. Along with reducing it, trying pranayama like Ujjayi can really help calm down the thyroid gland naturally.

Honestly, at my age, even looking at a glass of water seems to disturb my thyroid levels. But jokes aside, my doc told me alcohol directly messes with how the body processes thyroid hormones. Best to keep the drinks to a minimum unless you want a permanently slow metabolism like mine.

Don't trust random Google articles or WhatsApp forwards claiming alcohol cures or causes thyroid overnight. The thyroid is a complex gland and only a proper blood test can tell you what is happening. Better to consult an endocrinologist and get a TSH panel done instead of guessing.

Alcohol can seriously affect your gut health and nutrient absorption, which indirectly impacts your thyroid. For thyroid health, you need proper absorption of selenium and zinc. Avoiding alcohol and eating a clean, whole-food vegetarian diet really helps keep those hormone levels stable.

Please be careful with this, I ignored my symptoms for months thinking it was just fatigue from drinking. It turned out my thyroid levels were completely out of whack, which led to other severe health issues. Do not take it lightly, go see a doctor and get it checked properly before it gets complicated.

With our hectic work schedules and weekend drinks, it's very easy to mess up our endocrine system. Alcohol definitely affects your sleep and stress levels, which are major triggers for thyroid issues. Try taking a break from drinking for a month and see how your energy levels improve.

Bhai, humare bade buzurg hamesha kehte hain ki sharab sharir ke har hisse ko nuksan pahunchati hai. Thyroid to hamare gale mein ek choti si granthi hoti hai, uspar asar padna bilkul tai hai. Aap thoda parhez rakhein aur kisi achhe daktar ko dikha lein, sab theek ho jayega.

Actually, alcohol has a cellular toxic effect on the thyroid gland itself and can suppress its activity. It also lowers the body's sensitivity to thyroid hormones. If you are already on thyroid medication, drinking can interfere with how your body absorbs the tablet, so keep a check on your timings.
