Can acupuncture work for weight loss?

I'm trying to find alternative methods to support my weight loss journey. A colleague recently suggested acupuncture and said it helped him. Does acupuncture actually work as a tool for weight loss?

Acupuncture for weight loss can require a lot of regular sessions, which can quickly empty your wallet. Before spending a lot of money, it is much more practical to plan a basic thyroid and lipid profile test. A doctor can then tell you the exact medical reason for weight gain, which is much cheaper in the long run.

Acupuncture will not work for weight loss if you're not in a calorie deficit. It can support metabolism and stress management, but it's not a shortcut. Go see a qualified clinical nutritionist and build a sustainable plan instead of looking for quick fixes.

Honestly, spending money on needles to lose weight sounds crazy when we can just try to avoid late-night college canteen food. It might help with stress-eating, but u still have to put in the work. Talk to a doc or physical trainer before trying these alternative things.

It can be really tiring trying to find the right way to manage weight. Acupuncture might help some people control appetite by reducing anxiety. Please consult a doctor to see if it is a suitable option for your body.

Between office meetings and commutes, finding time for regular acupuncture is nearly impossible. Realistically, focusing on a high-protein diet and 30 minutes of daily walking is much more effective for weight loss. Ask your doctor for advice that fits your actual lifestyle.
