Can activated charcoal help with vomiting?

My child accidentally ate something bad, and now they're vomiting a lot. Someone suggested giving them activated charcoal. Can activated charcoal really help stop vomiting in such cases?

Bro, honestly, don't try activated charcoal if u are already vomiting. It's super chalky and will probably just make u throw up more. Better to stick to normal ORS or just see a doctor if it doesn't stop.

Beta, in our times we never used these modern charcoal things for vomiting. It is much safer to have a spoonful of fresh ginger juice with honey, or drink some carom seed (ajwain) water to soothe the stomach. If the vomiting is severe, please consult a proper doctor immediately.

Activated charcoal is mostly used for specific poisoning cases in hospitals, not for regular vomiting. If your stomach is upset, focus on staying hydrated first. Once your doctor says you are fine, a gentle walk in the fresh air can really help clear up that sluggish feeling.

I agree, it might actually worsen the nausea. Drinking slow sips of ginger tea or plain water is much safer when you are vomiting.

Please don't experiment with activated charcoal for vomiting. I once tried to self-treat severe vomiting with random remedies instead of going to a clinic, and ended up severely dehydrated on an IV drip. Save yourself the trouble and see a doctor right away.
